The Meaning of "Defense"

In a SPECTACULAR buzzer beating, foul free shot, the CELTICS (our families FAVORITE NBA team) won the THIRD of THREE games in the first round of playoffs. Jubilation reigned in our home! The shouts of joy were heard for miles around. It was truly one of the most EXCITING games we have ever seen.

Anyway, you came here for a vocabulary lesson and here I am giving you a sport score. They are related, I promise. The definition is actually courtesy of a 4-year-old Anna. Here is a recording of the information exactly as it was given...

Anna: da da DEFENSE! da da DEFENSE! da da DEFENSE! da da DEFENSE! da da DEFENSE!

Anna: Mom? Do you know what "DEFENSE" means?

Mom: Yes. Do you know what it means?

Anna: Yes.

Mom: What does it mean?

Anna: It means, "GO CELTICS!!!"

So, for all of you who thought it meant something different - glad we could set you straight. For those of you who got it right - GO CELTICS!!!
